I have applied at FedEx Freight for a class B position. But definitely will remember them for the future!

Honestly, May has a terminal like 30 minutes from me. Knight is 1-2 hours away. Melton told me I would probably get a load 100-200 miles away and then deadhead home.
I can definitely understand that I am new and would need training. My biggest fear is being stuck in a truck for months on end with someone I cannot stand. Plus, they make you double up with someone during the hotel for orientation.
Not to say that I know everything, obviously not as I am a new driver, but being a driver for nearly 30 years, driven across country many times, my dad being an o/o, I have a strong knowledge about this. One of the reasons why I am interested in trucking and have done so well already.
One person told me that it took him 6 months just to get those 30K miles, that's a long time being stuck making a daily minimum and being stuck with someone.
Idk, this is a hard decision lolnextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Thank you for the info!

Thank you for your reply, but I don't in any way have too much confidence. I am a level headed, clean record driver here. Was a Federal employee for nearly 20 years. And I certainly ain't relying on these stupid YouTube videos or internet, as you know, you can't believe half of it anyways.
I am mainly hoping to just get the real facts about each company, possibly from current employees. And then hope that will help make my decision easier. -

I started out with Schneider -- at their Atlanta terminal.
It's 3 - 4 hours from where I live.
Fast forward to the present -- the terminal I work at now is 2 hours from my residence; home weekly.
Can't stand your trainer? Ask for another one -- it's completely acceptable & doable.
What if your 30k trainer is a really cool person -- & is extremely knowledgeable? I'd personally take all that action & info I could get.
Schneider also paired me up with a roommate at orientation; we got a long just fine.
If you expect the world of trucking to be easy & convenient....start to finish, front to back...& side to side....you're definitely in for a rough ride ahead.

Do you have room where you live to park a truck during home time?
If not, then May is a good choice.
May or Melton is ok if you have a safe place to park while on home time.Miles0317 Thanks this.
