1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. Something doesnt sound right about this situation. Your friend bought 10 trucks and HE wants YOU to figure out what to do with them and YOU dont know very much about trucking. I can only speak for me and where im from, but i would get 2 of them for myself and let him have the other 8. Take the 2 you get from him and pull logs with 1 and have the other as a back up. Believe it or not its pretty good money in logging aroud my house. $125/load minimun. You get 3 of those a day and do tha math.

i agree with the leasing of a cpl and running some of your own trucks. Def. make sure if you hire drivers to do full background and drug testing as part of thier employment contract so no hiccups down the road. Where my hubby he drives helps out with dispatching and getting loads. He helped land a contract with Farmland in our area. i do alot of the paparwork fuel tax stuff, etc. Id def. call into a few insurance companies and check online or call to see what your state may require. Youre goin to need authority, insurance, brokers, loads lined up, etc. id sit down go thru the main things u are required to have first then go from there.
