So do you already have some sort of trucking job ? Or just a cdl and no job ? Either way you will probably have to sit tight for a few years the potential liability will scare.off most companies for a while anyways . I would keep my partying to a minimum the nature of this job means I can only have a beer mostly when I am on vacation and don't have to wory about driveing anything with wheels its the nature of the beast .
New driver, denied great local job because of background check.

robz78, just keep looking. There are plenty of companies out here that are just looking for someone to do the job and be dependable and safe, regardless of your minor record. If there any companies near you, go there, meet with them in person and sell yourself and your desire to work. The worst thing that they can say is "we can't help you". So, you try again until you find one. Happy hunting!
robz78 Thanks this. -

You know nothing about me, everyone else on here has given useful all be it discurging info. All u want to do is pass judgment and ridicule. Please just leave it alone. Not a "stoned wife beater" , u don't know me or my situation. Thanks for passing judgment, real helpful.

Haven't smoked in over three years since it all happened. Just sucks that one mistake, in my 35 years, while going through a divorce and I can't get a job now. Oh well, my fault. Thanks for the advice. -
There are companies that will hire you.
You have to have a positive attitude about the whole process.
It might be a company that others around here would say is beneath them, shady or what ever. So what !
Go get the job, make some money. Keep YOUR stuff as clean as you can.robz78 Thanks this. -
Thank you, figure if I put in my time at a less than desirable company, get experience, and let stuff fall off my record, getting my cdl won't have been a waste. Appreciate the input. -

Kinda shows a temper on an Internet forum too. Who knows what will happen when a 4 wheeler cuts him off. Gonna get angry and get revenge?
