Schneider Bulk is a good tanker outfit to get a career started with. They might cover your school tuition. They advertise they cover up to $7000.00 cdl school tuition.
Here's some more companies to check for jobs; may or may not cover tuition:
    Inman Trucking - Leland,NC
    Watkins-Shepard - Concord,NC
    Hardy Bros. Inc. - Siloam,NC
Cooke Trucking Co. - Mt. Airy,NC
    WLA Inc. - Mt. Airy,NC
    Abilene Motor Express - Richmond,VA

Here's the reply I got from PAM....

Mr. #####, sorry you experienced a communication problem with your first mentor. I was surprised the Wesley did not communicate with you about his scheduling problems. I just checked, his truck in still in the shop and there is no ETA for him to get the truck fixed. He has, of course, been pulled from your assignment. I saw an email that a new Mentor will be assigned as soon as possible. I just checked, a new assignment has not been made. As soon as we get a suitable Mentor headed your way you will get a call from a Fleet Mentor advising you about the details of your new assignment.

We are as anxious as you to get your training started.

    Time to bail out!
When you apply for other jobs, don't pay any attention to "experience required" because most will hire new grads on a case by case basis.

Ok. I got on the phone with a few different companies, and my best option looked like WERER. They are shipping me to Atlanta, GA next Wednesday for orientation. They told me about an interesting Dollar General bit that's reginal...( NC,SC,VA,WV )...Which is around my home, so that's good. Tuesday through Saturday..I'll be making .44 a mile starting out, which is PAM's base rate for TEAM hazmat....I thought it sounded good, so I went for it. Werner will pay my tuition costs to boot...

DO NOT DO DOLLAR GENERAL! These dollar accounts involve difficult backing manuevers into a tight store with heavy foot and vehicle traffic. They are an accident waiting to happen. A new driver has no business on a dollar account. The accidents these tight stores create kill driving careers before they even take off. Go to a dollar store and imagine backing a semi into the parking lot.

You can buy a wireless camera on amazon. If the won't reach far enough wirelessly. They do have extensions. Before you back into a DG. Put that camera on the back of the trailer. It may save your career.
View the loading and unloading as exercise. You'll do fine and be in better shape than most drivers.

I agree,, I did DG as a new driver with my Mentor from Swift. You pick up in VA, then run all night to make your delivery's on time. Some Docks are hard to get into. Then it will be going downhill and all the carts in the trailer will go wheeling out the door.... trailers when you pick them up are most of the time in sad shape and you have to get them fixed before you roll..

I'm looking into more regional settings, and driving by myself...I was very good at backing in school...First to take my backing test, and pass it the first time...I didn't think it was that hard, as long as you can imagine how much space you take up in 3 dimensions...Someone's got to do it, right? The pay with my Hazmat endorsement means I'll be starting out making what I would as a team hazmat driver for PAM!

I'll go to the orientation, and see how it goes.

If I don't like it, I can always go somewhere else...

I just need to get out, and get started!
