Hey guys, I dont wanna go too far into to details, my handle is speck so ill just stick with that for names...I am a student at great lakes truck driving in columbia station ohio. I am just about to finish and test for my license and coming up on the day when I need to start looking into what carrier I should drive for. I have looked through many of the companies and narrowed to a few...Valley trucking, Stevens Transport and Debour are 3 of the ones I have applied to and I recieved a prehire letter from Stevens. Are there any other places I should consider? Ive heard mixed things about Werner...also transport came in and presented as well, Btc was another one I saw...Any other suggestions other than those would be greatly appreciated. Remember I am a new driver, Im not a kid though Im 29 years old (almost 30 actually) did 7 years of service in the navy and I worked for an unamed trucking company as a mechanic for about a year. So its not like ive never seen a truck before lol. Anyways any advice will be takin into consideration.

consider schneider National too . . as they have OTR, local and tank etc. you could move into a local position that will get you regional and local work in their container service area . . .that will put less stress on your family in the future . . try to get hired in as a regional though as it will be more difficult to move from OTR . . .I got my start with them in 1990 when they were 55 miles per hour cab over only . . .
