    and how many are drunks?

    how many are dopers?

you can deny the inevitable, but someday, all trucks WILL HAVE many more cab cams.....the insurance companies will demand it....anyone wishing not to be watched, go find work elsewhere, or get yer own truck.

just don;t be too surprised if as an o/o, the insurance company you have, will demand the cams as well..

it's called...CYA......in case of an accident.

Just pointing out there is a hidden cost to having such a system.

People just might go elsewhere. Somebody gotta drive the truck though.

then go else where's....sooner or later, no matter the company, will bow down to insurance companies, hey, even the law, if one is mandated, then what to do..???

i say, "get yer burger flipping tool" ready at that point....

i see this coming down the pike with all these crashes of big trucks...it's inevitable.

My truck. I paid for it, I run it, I own it.

I'll smoke in it if I darned well want to!

Nobody willing to drive the truck, insurance company don't sell no policies. They ain't as powerful as you might think. They have a bottom line too.

Seems I remember a trucking company not too far back that required the leased on OO's to install elds and/or cameras. OO's all quit. Trucking company couldn't cover freight contracts, went bankrupt.

Can't just mandate something and expect it to magically happen with no repercussions. Doesn't work that way.

what i underlined...ok...you go with that...then explain why many so-called drivers are denied jobs at many companies....we see those posts right here on this very website.

too many accidents...too many tickets.....(maybe even some felony charges, due to the high values of the loads, and the propensity for the ex-con to steal it) ...the insurance companies DICTATE to the companies.

    again, don't like it...??

get your own truck, and expect things to be demanded by your insurance company as well...(in the future)

if and i say if, the insurance industry lobbies D.C. and believe me, they have MORE money than you ever will, they can push for legislation that will demand cab cams, or you get no insurance.

a small o/o such as yourself very well will not be able to set aside any monies to be self insured.

    then what..??

back to company driver you go.

it's "nice" to talk a brave talk......but in the end...bravery will not get you very far, against big monies, and the laws.

Probably a nose of a sick bloodhound then. I can smell cigarette smoke off a truck even if you smoke it only once and with the windows open. The smell isn’t overpowering like when some numbnut smokes a train in it with the windows closed but cigarette smoke clings onto fabrics really easy. Just smoking once with the windows open takes about a week to fully remove the smell. However just a small smell of smoke doesn’t bother me it’s when someone hotboxes that #### thing and it smells like a 1950’s casino is when you open the door and now you’re coughing in the truck while driving it.

My issue isn’t the camera facing at me. My issue is I’m not driving a rig with a camera looking at me flicking boogers for a 50k a year meager salary. You want to pester me with my driving habits and put a camera on my face? I’m not dealing it for free I’m going to want 80k+ salary plus adjusted for yearly inflation and benefits. I don’t deal with BS for free and neither should anyone else.
