I am a recent CDL graduate with no experience .. I have a couple companies in mind to start my carreer Freymiller , Schneider, Melton truck lines, Navajo,KKW Trucking .. what would be my best option?

Also one more question any tanker companies that hire newbies no experience and they train?? After I get my experience I want to apply for my local tanker company...

My sister started her career at Schneider (sp?). She did dry van for a little while; switched to tanker yanker, she loved that. She did two years with her pumpkin truck, then moved into Hauling fuel for a local outfit (Key Energy). She makes about 80k a year delivering fuel to Fraccing sites, it's not a bad gig.

Schneider hires newbies for tanker. If that's what you wanna do that's prob your best bet.

You will probably find at 21 years old gasoline tanker is not going to happen until you are maybe 23 with two years in by then with a company that hauls them or 25 due to insurance reasons. It is one thing to hire a truck driver, it is quite another to insure the same.

When you consider all the expenses a Trucking Company cheerfully pays every time they hire a driver it's no wonder those are deliberately kept away from knowledge as state secrets.

It would be nice just once to learn the particulars as to what it costs to hire a trucker. Insurance, Tags, and so forth. And what the money dollar cost between say a 21 year old with no experience and perhaps a 40 year old with some experience but never hauled tanker before.

Remember when I say this: It is good you have a goal going into our Industry. You will be happy to learn that Tanker work is more of a Mind Work requiring a set of good suits to really make an impression along with mentally working a lot of numbers to make loading and/or unloading work along with sanitizing for food grade tankers (I hauled raw milk after picking up same... and when Greenspring of Baltimore takes my milk in it goes to packages when go to schools to be consumed by children... makes me happy.)
