It can be done with dry van and reefer also. I have to admit I was sceptical before I started driving, fully expected $40K or less...then that first full settlement landed in my email inbox and the numbers just got bigger from then on.
That kind of money was a life changer.

Looking at Sysco, Mclane and all of the LTL companies in the area.
As far as OTR, looking into the flatbed companies Melton and TMC.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
I pulled dry bulk tankers about 8 years in the 80s. It was good money and good home time. Pulled Doubles (LTL) most of the 90s which was also good money and good home time.

You can make 60k at a mega carrier if you’re dedicated and/or willing to team. If you’re willing to do flatbed or tanker, you can get on at one of the decent starter companies in that field. Most of them will have you in the 55-60k range the first year if you hustle.
I stayed out my first 6 months with Swift and made 70k my first year. If you aren’t willing to do that you won’t be close.localguy65 Thanks this. -
Just wondering ... Why does everyone assume the OP will actually be able to get his CDl?

This is not about you personally, so don't take it that way, this happens a lot, those who need to make so money turn to this industry as a last ditch effort to make money, which turns out crap drivers because they can't treat it as a profession but just a job. Some of us seen a lot of crash and burn situations.kemosabi49, localguy65 and TripleSix Thank this.
