Just spent the last hour or so going though the new driver training requirements. What I'm coming away with is anybody can just register to become a trainer? If that is the case, I think I'll apply to be a trainer.

    Am I missing something here?

Not missing much. You need a range for the maneuvers, so you need to think about where you are going to set up the cones.

You have to comply with the record keeping and open yourself up to audits.

Final thought, with all of the record keeping and certifications you send on a trainee, when one of them does something amazingly stupid, they can come back to look at you and how the driver was taught. Keep that in mind when you document a students progress and don't be afraid to refuse to sign those really special cases off for testing.
