It all depends on the driver and how many hours your'e willing to put in. But they pay from $19-$22 hour.

I will bet on anything that this statement is false. If your lucky, and I mean real real lucky, you will get $15.00. Most of those port jobs(trucking) pay percentage and i will tell you why, you will spend alot a time waiting. Longshoremen are king at the ports and dont they dont give a hoot about any driver. You can make $700 a week working 14 and some 16 hour days, 6 days a week to get that amount. Do the math.......

I'm not sure in what state have you seen $15 an hour for port cdl a drivers, but I'm in Los Angeles CA,. The lowest I've seen a company pay is $16.25 for a new driver and no port experience, the company is National Retail Transportation. Not long ago a lot of container companies were paying port drivers as Independent contractors (1099) but now most hire as employee (w2).
I had the opportunity to work for a company in the port but they pay by the load and I would be an independent contractor (1099) the pay sounded low compared to other places and it just didn't sound legit. The highest paying trucking job that I've seen is $24.50 as a company employee hauling fuel. Now owner operators can make a lot more. But you can easily make $700 after taxes a week working 40 hours.

I agree with those rates. I've talked to hourly port and fuel haulers in LA. 18-21 per hour plus OT. The lazy ones earn 700ish the hard working ones gross over 1k a week. Funny thing is, even the coca cola Union guys are in the low 20's.
