I recently graduated from CDL school and have a pre hire offer from Maverick. I would like information on what to expect from orientation , securement training and OTR training. I am currently waiting for a spot in the training program.

Youll find plenty of threads on Maverick including their orientation in their sub-forum at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/maverick/. You will also probably get quicker responses by asking your question in that sub-forum rather than here as Maverick drivers tend to look there first and may not have the time to look through every forum and may never see your question posted here.

Most orientations are the same ..2-4 days of learning company policy etc. You will be told how great the company is, do lots of paperwork, get a physical and a free lunch daily. You'll stay at a local motel (might be a roach hole or a fairly decent joint). And they'll be a load securement class for about a day and road test too. Some new hires will wash out during this period. Usually because of a physical problem found at the physical and usually high blood pressure. Figure on concentrating getting thru the class and not on cruising the local bar every night.
