Sorry if I missed it but are you getting a 1099 where you have to pay your taxes or are they giving you a W2 and paying taxes for you?
If you are making those numbers on a 1099 get out fast IMO.
New Flatbed driver, I think I'm being Paid fairly what do you think?

W2, should not matter as I posted what I grossed not Net.

When I started my gig running to the oil fields on 25% I started a spreadsheet, tracking each load. I keep track of loaded miles, deadhead miles, line haul amount, and accessoral amounts. Then each paycheck I look at TTT (To The Truck) and the amount I earn.
I do all this to create an accurate business plan for when I buy my own truck. I've had paychecks as low as $400 and as high as $2800. I track overall average and a running average for the last 4 weeks. -
Spreadsheets? Maybe my wife can do that. I'm not into spreadsheets but I'm sure your very successful with that type of analytical approach.

I guess I would need to see net to give my opinion. -
Heck even if you take 30% out for taxes I would be happy with those numbers starting out.
And HUUUGE thing to me is liking/trusting the people I work for and the equipment I drive......so you sound all set IMO! -

I HATE the gov holding my money for me! SILLY!!!
I don't even like that mentality at all! My wife was the same way and I over ruled her... -
Lepton1 and Mattflat362 Thank this.

23 percent is at the low end of pay rates for the loads and area your running.
As a new driver, this is not unusual for starting out.
As time in the job you have the opportunity to see an increase in this rate. At six months, I would think that they should bump that at least 1 or 2 percent. After that it would be normal to see a 1 percent increase every other year to top out around 32 percent
The one thing that seems out of the ordinary here is the fuel charge. At a rate of 23 percent, I would expect the company to pick up the fuel cost. Possibly having a small mpg based bonus program.Mattflat362 and TampaTony Thank this.
