It's about as effective as gun control. I am sure those carriers intending to commit fraud or run deliberately unsafe operations are taking note and will give up on trucking right away.

They can make all these laws and it won't stop bad things from happening. It won't make roads more safe and it won't stop those wanting to break the law from doing it. I have read about some of these Russians and others who have stolen the identities of legitimate carriers, stolen the money from brokers and/or shippers and moved on to the next target. These laws won't do anything to help stop that from happening. These laws are a waste of our tax dollars. It is past time to start working to reduce or eliminate most of these foolish regulations.
coalroll Thanks this. -
I agree with Red. At best this will have a blip in all this. I believe that these companies know what they can get away with but don't pay attention. They will get shut down once and figure out they need to open up again at a different location and hide the identities of drivers and equipment.

I don't understand the new entrant fine, don't they get ahold of you for your audit? So now they will fine you because the FMCSA did not call you or send a letter?
