Prime has a new guarantee program that started on June 1st. From what I understand, all new contracts will be on it, and all old contracts can get on it if they want but can stay on the old program.
The new guarantee is as follows:
Reefer and Flatbed $1.02/mi, Tanker $1.15/mi over 100,000 miles like the old .95/mi guarantee. The major difference is with the fuel surcharge, now instead of getting 100% of fuel that the customer pays, you will now only get the guaranteed fuel surcharge. If the customer pays more than the guarantee the excess is put back into the linehaul at the 72/28 split. So if a customer was currently paying .50/mi in fuel you'd get the 41.5/mi that is guaranteed, and the excess 8.5 cents would go back into the linehaul 2.4 cents would be kept by Prime and you would get 6.1 cents of it.
New Guarantee Program

I am in, missed getting signed up when I was in SpringMO and forgot when in SLC yesterday. Wonder how to get signed up for it. Sound good to me. But going to have to talk to my attorney and a few peeps to check. Basic math I might keep what I got as well......Last edited: Jun 14, 2011

I think I'll just keep the $2.35 a mile my current load is paying...

Hmm I smell a lawsuit from OOIDA. Near as I remember federal law REQUIRES all charges for fuel to be passed 100% to the one payin for the fuel. Hasnt Prime spent enough of you guys money on these things by way of lawsuits? Why would you willingly sign up for this program?

I will stay with the $2.76 per mile x 619 miles this loads paying.
-
I remember hearing something about this, it would be legal only if you were given the option if no option the OOIDA could be all over it. I would have to crunch numbers to see if it would be worth it, it might be or maybe not. Sazook, crunch some numbers for us would ya. LOL

That's on DOD loads.
This just refers to the contractual minimum guarantee, amortized over every 100,000 miles that you run. It really only is an issue when the economy is in the tank... otherwise the you get the linehaul split plus 100% of the fuel surcharge plus accessorial payments. -
Any company that tries these tricks needs to be avoided, most the time they are just looking for a way to line their pockets on the backs of O/O's.
American-Trucker Thanks this. -

Im talking about the fuel surcharge, You should get 100% of whatever they collect no exceptions period!Hardlyevr Thanks this.
