Actually its less than two weeks now...

I guess I'm gonna have to turn that 2 hours at the loading dock into 1.5 hrs. on line 4 and 30 minutes on line 1. Think of all the lives this will save.
skellr and scottied67 Thank this. -
The 34hr reset is the most BS thing about all of it. If you are off duty for said time you should be able to reset 70 even if you just did a reset 3 or 4 days prior. How is that supposed to save money or increase productivity? I can see guys on e-Logs losing miles over this.
I can also see running 2 books (For guys on paper like me) becoming very popular again. Not that I would ever condone such a thing,.. heaven forbid.
HurstSTap Thanks this. -
run 3100 miles aweek on elogs, haven't had to do a reset in months, Run off the recap tell the office when hours are low, so they plan me accordingly.
jomar68, silenteagle, Cranky Yankee and 1 other person Thank this. -

What mostly upsets, really infuriates me is that there's no need for this unrealistic and absurd rules. There's NO safety or health benefit! NONE! It may not impact some due to their schedules or whatever but it will impact many, it will make many people's lives more miserable, more difficult, will cause more stress, no significant rest, will limit working hrs, less income for some, will increase traffic jam during rush hr and so many other problems to all in this industry and terrible impact on economy... And all of these freaking rules are being forced on to us based on no scientific data. Just pure and simple over powerful, inflexible government with no practical common sense, doing whatever they want, disregarding every thing and everybody... Causing more problems, less revenue, spending more money unnecessarily... They want to eliminate fatigue? By ruling our hrs? Over regulating us? Using recorders, sophisticated equipment? IMPOSSIBLE! Heck, might as well build trucks that can drive themselves or robots to drive those freaking trucks! I bet these lawmakers would love to get rid of trucks if they could.
I am dying to see the chaos, the aggravations, the disaster to many businesses and all the problems that these freaking rules will cause to industry. Because they will for sure... And I hope to see A LOT of outcry to force FMCSA to review their freaking rules and revoke them, get rid of them! But I am afraid that any business having difficulty obeying these freaking rules will have to apply for an exemption... and the all powerful government will then examine in order to decide... This is government getting more control over our lives, more bureaucracy transforming the simple into something extremely complicated and expensive... And people still agree with this excrement...
pattyj and Lone Ranger 13 Thank this. -
Land of the free? Not so much.
Nice slogan though.pattyj Thanks this. -
I heard on the radio about illegal immigration amnesty bill to pass Senate by this coming July 4th... Seems to me this "land of the free" starts to have a whole different meaning...
Sorry, no intention to highjack the thread.

I have only been out of trucking for a year and a half and they are already making bullcrap changes again.....lawmakers need to start listening to the drivers and not idiots that no nothing about the industry. They all need fired and have some actual drivers get on and review and makes rules. Not some bureaucrat that polishes a wood seat with his fat_ss...
Rocks Thanks this.
