    When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

    last i checked, USDOT/FMCSA is the federal government and they have not gotten my consensus nor tacit approval to interfere with me conducting lawful business to pursue my life, liberty and happiness

    telling me when to go to bed is far beyond any government's mandate, from caesar to hitler to obama

    just because someone makes a law doesnt mean the population has to kowtow to it, thats the beginning of tyranny

    it doesnt just come with armies marching down the street, but with constant erosion of our rights and liberties

    hence, if i LIE to the government about laws that are unjust, that is my God-given right to do so

    1) How do you know the other driver didnt just go to sleep a few minutes after you and wake up a few minutes before you did?
    2) If that "e-logger" was a paper-logger he would probably drive 14-20 plus hours every day! so/and, more than 95% of drivers that now do use e-logs actually use the 10 hour to actually sleep at least 6 on a regular basis.
    3) It would be ignorant for you or me to assume that every one else logs like we do.
    4) It would be ignorant for me to believe that what the driver parked next to me says is actually true.
    5) If you or I were allowed to make the rules for e-loggin or no e-loggin, there probably would be a whole lot more of safe and happier drivers on the road, but unfortunately we're not buddies of the friend of the cousin of the niece fo the mayor who is best friends with that or those famous legislators working
    for the benefit of the government employees who etc, etc, etc

    I love these chats because its always the same group of guys, and they seem to never be going anywhere. All that paper log and nothing to log. But hey maybe they already got their 3500-4500miles in 3-4 days and they can take the rest of the week off.

    Well I put in 587 miles so far today. Left Ankeny, Ia at midnight mountain time well after my 15 min pretrip. Picked up load in Marshalltown,Ia Fueled in Altoona, Ia. Still have an hour left of driving, but I'm going to hit the showers and knock off a 10. In Big Springs, NE. My appointment in Denver say's 11am tmrw, but I'll probably be waiting at the door for them when they get their at 5am. Even though I'll be there probably around 12-12:30ish midnight. Next stop is in West Jordan Utah. That delivers at 10:30am monday. I'll be there in the common carrier lot sometime tomorrow. Only have 4 pallets. Checked weather yesterday and I could see it's going to be windy in Wyoming. So I may just take 70 instead of going 80. Like the people who pay for the fuel wants me too.

    Truck is governed at 65. I had the cruise set on 62.7 . I could of set it lower but then it would have the swift's and the prime's trying to pass getting in the those large cars way. Got about 7.3mpg doing so. So kinda dispells the rumor that we are always in a rush. Even though b4 E logs people were always in a rush and those who don't have E logs are complaing about the guy in the middle lane. Because they are in a rush. What's the big rush you got loose leaf logs. Tear it out and start up a new one.

    Wondered if the Dot pulled you in and told you to go sit in the corner for 10 hours till his shift is over just because that makes him happy, and because he gets a bonus for how many trucks he puts out of service. There's no reason to put you out of service, but he has to feed his family like everybody else. What about the man dressed like a lady who follows your daughter or wife into the ladies room. He/she thinks its a woman so why can't it go in that room. It's just a little lie. All I can say is may the Lord have mercy on your soul, and Hope if you ever are in the court of law. Trying to convince a jury why they shouldn't bury you under the jail for driving when you felt like it, and causing a major accident. You won't use the same arguments. Good day sirs. Hitting the showers and hoping I forgot we ever had this conversation.

    Ther words sleep and rest are not found in FMCSR . When you are Off Duty you are exempt from regulation.

    No but the office gents can and do fudge the elogs so drivers can continue to miraculously have hours. But those elogs are accurate and safer than paper.....blah.....

    And ya know what? That kind of falsification will show up on a compliance audit. The GPS location tags can't be edited in any system that is approved by the FMCSA. So they can alter the hours data, but it won't match the GPS location data.

    what does yours say?

    try showing DOT seven days of OTR with no sleeper berth time
