I sometimes fantasize about what change 1000 trucks could affect by parking their rigs across metropolitan interstates at 430pm on the friday before labor day weekend.
Sadly it'll never happen. Getting that many truckers to risk their career in civil disobedience would be like hearding cats. Buts that what it takes. It took "critical mass" bicycle rallies to get cities to start adopting the most basic cycling protectionslandstar8891 and Rocks Thank this. -

I am very HAPPY to say that I drove 10 straight hrs today...
Felt GREAT! Even after going thru the darn traffic jam on I-80 in IL.... Didn't need to stop one min for anything... not even to use the restroom...
And I did it cause I wanted.
ironpony, Dinomite and double yellow Thank this. -
So, what would happen if we all get together and abolish the current rules, change the 10 to 8 hr; the 11 to a 12, and the 14 to a 16, and no required shift breaks -leave it up to the driver to choose paper or e-logs, pay all company drivers $70k salary and double all owner op pay?????????????

No, We Are Not Moving The Effective Date Of The HOS Rule,Ferro Says In Responce To Repeated Requests

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ' You can stop sending those cards and letters, folks.
Nothing short of a negative court ruling is going to stop the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration from making its appointed rounds to implement the new Hours of Service rule as scheduled on July 1.
"No, we are not moving the effective date of the Hours of Service rule," FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro told reporters here just days after several lawmakers had made pleas to Ferro and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to delay implementation until three months after an appeals court rules on a petition to review the rule. -
I wish you an enjoyable retirement.
