It sure is. That's why experience is best. You have to look for the better outcome after having one year or better experience.

I'm now currently in the market for my own truck. These companies are really going overboard with their slow trucks and no idle policy in these hell temperatures.

Where can i find out if and how the new rules affect "oil field workers"? since oil field workers have a restart while 24 hours off-duty, does it mean they have to be off duty from 1am to 1am? or 1am to 5am? or doesnt apply to oil field workers?.... what about the 30min rule?

I said it years ago and i see it is finally here.

I always said trucking was going to be turned into a 9-5 factory job...Welcome to the new world of trucking and the workers getting screwed once again.

The way i see it is like this.If these rules where in affect and i had to do a 34 hour restart and 2 nights consecutive,it would be more like 46.

I got in today at 8 A.M....I need to take 34 restart. So i would have to wait till 6 A.M Monday..46 hours off...

i think that whatever they put into effect will be the way of the future. you have to learn to accept, it work around it or get out of the industry because with eobrs "THEY KNOW".
dont get me wrong. i dont like it, and hope it gets kicked out, but i will try to get along.

Why not just leave the restart alone, and merely
make it illegal to travel CMV on public roads between 1:45 am thru 4:15 am and allow for automatic extension of the 14 for 2.5hrs as long as you already have been onduty for 8.5 hours and driven no more than 10???
annnnnd make it illegal for 4wheelers to travel on interstates and major highways 30min after sunrise and 30min before sunset?(when traveling towards the sun, ofcourse)

My plan is coming together and working very well...When i can no longer make ''great'' profit as an O/O,I am done done done..

I would never do this with ''more'' regulations to screw the workers and worse pay.I myself would walk away and thank the trucking industry for the Thousands i saved over the years.

But if every driver logged their time at shippers and receivers as line 4, you're 70 would be up in a few days. It's bad enough that you have to waste up to 8 hours sometimes of your 14 setting at a shipper or receiver. I do what the company requires..15 minutes on duty to load or unload. The rest of the time is sleeper berth. I tried that way of logging, where you log on duty not driving the actual time you are there....it's impossible.

Until our government decides to hold these shippers and receivers liable for all the BS they put drivers through and no compensation, all their rules and regulations only screw the driver the over. When they let these places treat us however they so desire and not hold them accountable....well, it's a crock of fertilizer.....

What would the thought on this be if you were actually paid an hourly wage while sitting waiting to load?
What if you were paid while loading?

This is where it needs to be addressed.

There's a ton of drivers out there that think trucking is a 9-5 job. Try to find a spot by 7 pm somewhere....It's impossible. Sometimes I wonder how guys make money when trucks set so much. It seems like all the time I'll pull into a spot, be it a truck stop or rest area, take my ten and get going. Same trucks that were there when I parked are still there when I leave. To each his own, I guess, but.....lol
