    15 + 15 = 30!

Sure, two 15 minute breaks equals a 30 minute break. Just make sure they butt into each other!!

I feel for those that are on e-logs and no one has a clue what they are doing. When there is everyone working in concert, the e-log thing is not that bad, and actually a good thing in some respects. I have been on e-logs for 2.5 years and not had any problems with earning potential. Even this new HOS stuff kicking in the 1st is not really causing me any real grief. Will not really change much. I am home every weekend, but even if I got in to where I could not pull off a reset based on the new regs, I will just recap and start my week. Fortunately, I have folks I work with and customers that understand the issues involved and things get scheduled in a realistic manner, and I have as much input as anyone in the loop. Where all the problems are going to occur is with those that are just now arriving to the party in all of this. And that is partly the driver's fault as well as the carriers. No one has tried to modify the way they have done things in the past in anticipation of this stuff coming down the pike, and now that they are directly confronting it, they are panicking. We all knew this stuff was coming for quite a while, yet so many have not even made any real attempt to modify their operation to take it into account. Now that the day is almost upon us, they are running around like rats jumping off a sinking ship. If they would have directed some of the energy they spent in hollering and screaming about the new HOS regs into actually finding a way to make it work, they would not be grieving so much. I sure was not going to wait to modily how I was doing stuff in the "hopes" that OOIDA or some other group would come to my rescue and stop this stuff in it's tracks. That is pie in the sky thinking. Not my style.

just saying i read where ooida did fight the e-logs right along with the obrs(black box) on the truck.

They ARE STILL FIGHTING the new ohs rules.

Still fighting pilot program cross bordering that let mex.truck companies in usa.

They fought the new drug testing rule.

Thier is too many to post that ooida has done for the trucking industry.

So dont go pointing fingers in the wrong place.

The fingers should be pionted at all of us. We have the power and a voice in this.

We choose to not use it. To get involved in what is happening.

We are american, voters.we have senators & house of representative.

That represent the poeple. They vote as we say.

You have to call and tell them what you dont like or like.

Ooida fight for us for free.but cant do it with out your voice.

Call letting the representative know your say in the matter.

Ooida puts out what( call a call to action). This is where you pick up the phone and call.use your voice.

Just thank what we could do if we pulled together made a stand.

Instead of waiting for someone else to do somethang.

    Just saying

This fight has some different dynamics than in the past. Anne Ferro at FMCSA has decided to dig in her heels and go forward, and the misuse of the facts to justify it, the organizations against it, the courts, etc will not get in her way. Just listen to or read her comments before the House committee on these issues. It isn't so much what she says, it is how she says it. Kind of a "don't like it... tough" attitude. One has to really question why, since she has represented trucking interests in the past, why she is so staunch in placing further restrictions on trucking. We live in curious times.

IMO i think it's been drilled into drivers heads that they have to work 60,70,80 hours to make a living. All i see out there are signs that say ''MILES MILES MILES.This is the biggest crock of ####.I must be living the good life working 40-59 hours a week and making great money in todays Economy..I know guys working 50 hours a week and gross 1500.00...It can be done.

When an O/O makes a good ''profitable'' decisions on there runs, they DO NOT have to kill themselves or there equipment. When a company driver makes a good rational decision to work for a good company,he does not have to kill oneself..STOP FEEDING the useless bottom feeder companies..!!!!!

There are many drivers that are making wonderful hometime and wonderful money working LESS..I will stress working smarter and not harder..If a half hour is breaking the bank, then you have done something WRONG.If being home for 50 hours with family and loved ones is breaking the bank, you are doing something wrong.

I hate to be the one who says this but it has to be said. This brainwashing over the years of working like an animal has become the ''NORM'' in trucking. This should not be the case.!!!!!!!.Many many no good for nothing slave masters are laughing at us all the way to the bank. They go home every night laughing at some dumbed down driver living in a parking lot for 100 bucks a day investing 24 hours of there time. That is 4.16 an hour.?.Meanwhile he is home at 5:00 PM with his family making a Million investing 8-9 hours...

As drivers we need to stop drinking the koolaid and believing all the same ole B/S being shoved down our throats for many years. We need to ''re write'' the rules and the norms. We need to stop following the SHEEP to the slaughter house. We need to challange everyone we run into and learn the greatest word in trucking...NO NO NO and Go #### Yourself. These are the ''key'' words i live by.

I have gone on a semi rant and i hope this has helped someone. Please stop the madness of this brainwashing of having to kill oneself, sell out family and live on a lonely road to make a living...WORK SMARTER AND NOT HARDER....:biggrin_25511:

Logging waiting time as on duty would ensure that trucks are stuck in the docks. I've spent countless times waiting at a Walmart DC for 8 hours plus. I spent 38 hours waiting for a load at a Tyson plant in Arkansas. They booted me out at 11:30 pm Christmas Eve. With the pace most shippers and receivers move you would never make money logging all that time waiting. E-logs I show 15 min drop n hook, 30 min live load/unload, 8 min fuel stop.

i hear what your saying ive drove with e logs for 2 1/2 years.

Just trying look at this from a different view.you might dont see.

You say you waited 8hr + thats 14 hr with 11hr reset

you say waited 38 hr. That a 34 hr reset.

I hate those long waits too. They asked for the truck. Then you have to wait. Poor planning. On thier part.

I was just going by what you said. Positive thinking keeps me from going crazy.

Negative thinking rise my blood pressure.

If spent 38 hours waiting on aload i would have left. Call me when your ready. Or call someone else. Told dispatch they saying loads canceled. Get another. Or detention pay with some copanies isnt that bad. Cha ching. While i reset.

    Roll on.

    Rocks and Cowpie1 Thank this.
