A contract can not take away all of your legal rights, especially with a 1099. You can send a written to notice to schneider detailing your disgust with the contract and how you are forcibly signing it. That gives you rights as well. The legality and technicalities of this contract is so ####ed up. But they do knowing that most of not all are gonna just give up.

I'm having a lawyer look at our contract, because it's ########. Not only with the trailer part, but also with the tolls. Because they can say tolls are the same but the second they charge u and u try to fight... they're gonna tell you tough ####.

And of course your old contract expire when you sign the new one, because you're replacing the old one. But if you don't sign it, your old contract is still alive and well, until the terminate you and breach it.

The way I understand it, you have until Oct. to sign it or get out.

It states that the current contract can be terminated at any time by either party.

It's an Agreement, not a Contract. You are agreeing to their terms or go somewhere else, period. If you don't sign the new Agreement then the current one expires on Oct.12,2015.

That's why they are allowing company drivers with 6 mos. total experience to switch to Choice. In the beginning, you had to be an O/O with at least 1 yr. of O/O experience. So, yes, they have really lowered their standards which is why they are having more incidents/accidents.

That paper that you initial and sign during your recert takes care of that.
