there's going to be a meeting tomorrow from what I've been told involving the ICA and it's going to be between 9 and 10 and from what I understand and been told by other choice IC's...,the meeting is going to be about the language in this contract because apparently they have been getting their phones and emails blown up with complaints from every direction so apparently they're going to sit down and try to fix the problem

Personally I hope they start fining all off these ### clowns that stay attached to trailers and go home for the weekend. There's nothing more frustrating when you show up at Gary on a Monday morning to see 3 or 4 IC's attached to empty trailers that went home for who knows how long. I'd love to see those inconsiderate dheads get fined.

The best is when you get assigned an empty trailer and you see it has a seal and king pin lock on it because another IC wanted to hold the MT hostage lol

A couple months ago I was dispatched to get an empty at Woodhaven MI only to find it was padlocked by a driver. Managed to beat that padlock off with a sledgehammer. Ran into another empty at Gary that was padlocked. Tried beating that one off with a sledgehammer but it wouldn't budge. Thought maybe I was He-man beating off that padlock at Woodhaven but I guess it was just a defective padlock.

Take it with a grain of salt that I was fed a lot of info today and am rereading the contract as we speak, but from my understanding it won't be a clear cut "hey you want to DH out so we're gonna charge you"

It's more like "hey we need that empty here in this area and if you take it with you to go pick up a live load we will charge you for it"

    But ultimately it's your decision.

Something tells me they are not going to track these sort of things very efficiently. They can't even keep track of empty trailers that are stationary.

I wouldn't panic. The main reason they rewrote the agreement was to comply with the federal guidelines for employee vs contractor. I believe that the vast majority of us will not see any difference running the way we do.

Man... its not $100.00 for leaving an area its $250.00 for leaving the area of 100 miles or more... Look at the provision agreement #17 about out of service and repositioning then go down to exhibit table b and it will say repositioning is $250.00. This is bull....

Can someone take a picture of that page? I'd like to see the wording on it.
