When you make an a-hole comment you get an a-hole answer. -
But for now, the company gets paid first before I start taking any profits out of it. I have a set amount I'll pay myself if there is enough profit that week. If there isn't I don't pay myself anything. That's what it means to be an entrepreneur.
For me this is a business not a job or just a way to pay the bills each month. I have my business plan written out and know what my targets are and how over the next 5 years my business will be structured and where I want it to be. I also have my 10 year and 15 year goals. This plan has been in the works for a while and I review it on a regular basis as well to see how my progress is. I make adjustments as needed, it's my guide and it's fluid.
Ok off my soap box, sorry guys. I've spent most of today coaching 2 entrepeneurs and another person who was having issues in a sales position. It gets me fired up sometimes, especially when you can see they are making the improvements in there life you have coached them on. -
When figuring cost per mile on fixed costs they only change when number of miles ran change. Fuel is a variable which changes from bt to mt to loaded.
Truck note, insurance, maintenance, permits, plates, drivers pay as well as road taxes are all fixed costs based on number of miles.
So to say to run your truck at 24.5 cpm seems extremely unlikely.
Now if that's your fuel cost to run your truck I could see that. However when stating true costs per mile all fixed costs need to be included.Pork Chop Express Thanks this. -
My factor solely depended on profitability while running the lanes I want to run that allows me to do the things I need to do in my personal life and right now Schneider offers that to me.
I can deal with the BS as long as my profit margins are there. Once they aren't then I have to consider other options.Opus, drvrtech77 and redoctober83 Thank this. -
Of course, but I dont mean guys like you.
Im directing this more towards the ones who throw pro schneider lines at anyone who has any kind of conplaint towards the company. -

Basically it comes down to this, your cost to run empty or bt is different then the cost to run loaded. You can do the easiest thing and just average it all together, but then that number would be off and when making business decissions it will skew things. How do you tell if the load you pick is truly profitable for you? An is taking all your costs divided by all your miles (both empty and loaded). The thing is it costs you more per mile to operate loaded then it does empty but based off your average number, which includes your lower cost for being empty, you could look at a lower rate per mile load. When in actuality you really need to take a higher paying per mile load...ah nevermind. The smart ones get it
TennMan this isn't directed at you, I was talking in general about the cost stuff. Sorry I got carried away. I appreciate your comments and advise that you have given on the TTR. Thank youTennMan Thanks this.
