That's good to hear. I know I'm just getting started but from I've read from a lot of you guys & the one I've been talking to on the phone I've had the same feeling as you. I think it will be a case by case basis on the fines.

Which is the same as saying your success depends on wether or not your ICA likes you, or what kind of mood they're in that day, or if they have some underlying prejudice, or etc., etc....

All this talk about "all they want is more communication" means longer hold times on the phone and even longer to get a reply on the QC if you even get one. And no one can make a command decision, they always have to call someone else.

With the way DOL is going to rule about employee vs contractor, that's the only way to go, otherwise you could also sue for hourly pay for pre and post inspections and any other logged time not driving along with your perentage and cents per mile. This is soon to be the norm.

you're #### right you are. The only way to be an independent operator is if you have your own truck and trailer, your own authority and pay your own insurance.

It's quite easy and cost effective too.
I haul freight from 6 to 7 different carriers and brokers around the country. I do it all on my own, don't have a truck or trailer payment. no elog no-one looking over my shoulder, I go and do what I want. Yes I run legal! 30 years experience dictates such.
I'll just say one thing-- the JB hunt brokerage has the best freight rate believe it or not! lowest I've pulled is 1.87 pm + fuel surcharge, the highest was 3.62 + fuel (van) and both of these loads were from cali, one to oxford nc. one to jacksonville fl. A #### load of these companies can't find trucks to haul their freight and take on small independents with their own authority. And the best is you don't have to worry about companies safety records it's all on you and how safe YOU are.
Do your own investigating and see how easy it is and the opportunities you have. These companies like SFI, Prime or swift will control you because you give them the opportunity to!

you don't have to wait for a response... I told them the day over the QC that when I get to Houston and drop my load tonight if I don't have a trailer dropped to drop my empty I'm taking it to the Houston OC regardless and dropping it and going home... What was the response about an hour later no problem I'll just put it in your workflow Houston oc

while I'm on your side, that simply is not the case. I've had them assign me mty moves 30 minutes before the load delivers.
Once again.......no mty's here and roll on
