Good to know. Thanks for the input in that. I figured the star would be a bit rougher just because it's an "older" platform. But I'm with you on the dash. I love the classic look to it and the last time I drove a star, there was a ton of room in the cab. I think it's the widest cab in the industry isn't it? But yeah I'm going to compare what they come up with. It will probably be a 4900 but #### I wish I could get the 5300ex in a straight truck. I love that look lol.

I wouldn’t spec a 15L for what you’re doing. The A26 is 12.4. A 13L class or an 11L class would do well for you. The A26 has been great. It is completely different than the N13 and the Maxxforce 13. I’ve driven both of those as a company driver and the A26 is much better.bzinger Thanks this.

The HV doesn't even offer the 15L Cummins. Only choices is the Cummins b6.7, Cummins L9 (10L) and the A26. Originally I planed to do the L9, but she would be the top rated version at 345 / 1150. The A26 I would do the lower version at about 385 to 400 or what ever their base spec is. The added torque would be nice but I know I can get by with the L9. Biggest difference I do know is the L9 is much louder at idle and right now I don't have a generator or APU. So the truck will be running a lot for the time being.

OK, I was thinking HX. I’m not a fan of Cummins in general. I’ve owned several and they cost me a lot of money.

Problem with Cummins is that you are paying for the name. I've had good luck with them so far but every engine is different. Some of them run great and others leak and drink coolant or oil daily for breakfast. It's sad that really any truck and any transmission these days is always leaving people wondering if they are good or bad. There is no engine that just works now

As far as engines go, I think the Daimler, A26, and Mack/Volvo are pretty well neck and neck.

Impressive numbers, well done.

Have you ever weighed your tractor?

The stamp weight is 16720. With my truck, trailer (reefer), full of fuel and DEF, I can scale 45,200.Tanksmuch Thanks this.
