When I started this new truck deal I shopped it around to all the truck makers. They are all present in my area. No one would build what I wanted. I wanted a Mack or Volvo badly but after two Volvo Dealers and two Mack dealers and no luck I went to Peterbilt, grudgingly, same result. I went to Freightliner and they wouldn’t do it. I wasn’t interested in KW. International was a totally different experience. They listened to me and made it happen. The process was super easy there. They weren’t even on my radar to begin with.

What did you want that the others wouldn't provide? Your specs don't sound outrageous.
Ssgtkevin, Steel Dragon and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Mesilla I see them with those hub covers. And aero plastic between the wheels. That may be more efficient but I'll bet less life on the bearings, breaks, and tires.
Steel Dragon Thanks this. -

If you got cash they "should" build whatever you spec. Its not like its super hard to put a direct drive 10 speed manual behind an engine or a 2.5:1 carrier into a housing at the factory. More than likely they were afraid of ordering a truck with those specs and then trying to sell it if you decided not to buy it once it was delivered.
