Double digit fuel economy is pretty slick. I'm a bit depressed my F550 only gets about 8-9mpg with only 19k lbs gross lol.

I'm taking interest because I want to see how this new A26 is going to perform in a dump truck.
I wouldn't use it to pull the pony trailers at 140,000 pounds, but I think it will make a good fit in just the dump trucks at 80,000 pounds.

International posted an article awhile back about a company in NY pulling turnpike doubles, waste haul, in excess of 100k gross.

There are no hills on the Thruway - at least not around the lake. That makes a big difference.

I once pulled 120k with an N13 and wasn't really impressed. My edumacated guess is that there's a big difference between the a26's 475/1700 and the 500/1850 offered by everyone else's 13L.

They don’t just pull the thruway. I posted a screenshot of the article. They run in and out of the ports of NJ and back. There is a video on you tube that has more detail. The difference between an A 26 475/1750 Max rating and a 500/1850 from someone else is a small difference. 25 hp and 100 ft lbs. there would be no noticeable difference in everyday operation.
I only use 200 HP in everyday use. If you are really maxing out the motor everyday to maintain speed, no matter what motor you choose, you’ll never be happy with the MPG. More HP always equals more fuel. If you back off a little you’ll get good mpg.

This is my average on a normal run for me. I had 70K from AR to MD via 40 to 81 nd through DC and Baltimore; loaded in NJ to near Birmingham, 80 miles stop and go through small towns to pickup and get back to the highway, back the same way I came except get on 75 S to 59 S, 65k on this one.

While I can't comment on the a26, I have compared 450/1550 ISX's to 450/1650 DD15's in a tandem operation. I did notice that extra 100lbs on the hills - the 1650 was better at keeping up with traffic. I imagine that with the extra weight the difference would be more pronounced. Just my guess.
