I just got hired to drive Class B straight trucks, I'll be driving either a pickup, box truck or vac truck. I never drove a stick shift until a few months ago when I was trained for the first time at a CDL trucking school. There they taught us how to drive a 10 Speed Double Clutch. After a while I got the hang of it but now I'm worried because it's been 2 months since I drove one and I'm not sure if the trucks I'm going to be driving are a 5 speed or 10. I've never driven a 5 speed before and I'm just really nervous. I start next Tue.
New Job and a little worried

If it a manual like in Cars they do shift differently than in the Big trucks. Simpler in ways but not forgiving as the big trucks

One important thing to remember when going from a big truck to a pick up is reverse, On a light duty truck reverse is all the way to the right and back and on a tractor it is all the way left and forward. Also take the time to ask someone to help you figure it out if you need to. Good Luck
Puppage Thanks this. -
If it is a 5 or 6 speed it will probably be a syncromesh gearbox.
These are even easier then a crash box where you have to double clutch.
If you came right on the 10 speed once you will again and if it is a syncro box with out a range change or splitter then even easier. -
I can't remember how to drive a stick shift in a 4 wheeler anymore
