It would be nice to know what kind of trailer, what the freight is and is it LTL?
Unloading 100 pound sacks of potatoes and stacking them in a 4x4 ti/hi can be pretty taxing on that 60 year old body.

Is the job food service/food delivery?

Does the job involve a pallet jack and a liftgate? Or a slideout ramp with a dolly?

Some of these guys act like actual work is a horrible thing (1) there just lazy(2) they can’t physically do it.So they try to convince others its there’s crazy to justify their own laziness. If you’re going to work why not make the most money you can.Never let someone convince you something wrong with working.Myself always found these jobs such as food service pay really good and a lot of regular home time. I personally would never do TL freight.

    I used a lumper. And a Comchek.

But I did local for a bit and dealt with scissor docks a bunch. Unlevel bent up ones and had to get milk in plastic pallets from trailer to dock then up the hill into the store.

    That was always fun.

Lots and lots of bungee cords involved and my coat. You could take your pinky and slide the whole stack around.

Always be aware of that refrigerated stuff you might not think it's moving. But it's about to collapse with you just standing there. Don't try to save the freight just run.

Young owner operator seemed extra glad to be dragging a tankwagon.

Then he explained how he used to 'fingerprint' 10,000 cases of candy bars.

Do you know what the hospital gives you?

    It's not ibuprofen.

I did 4 loads on Family Dollar and was about to switch to no touch freight because it was wrecking me physically, but the company terminated me due to scraping a parked vehicle while trying to blindside, soooo now I'm trying to figure out what the heck to do now. Stressed out. Ticked off. Not sure what I'm gonna do.
