New license Drivers

    Anyone hiring for new drivers? I recently got my license and I am trying calling the companies but everyone is asking for one year experience. I really need work If someone is can you please drop by company name so l can contact I have US visa and Permanent residency if that helps. Thanks

    He’s not Canadian ( Chinatown). Op, your best bet is getting experience with a 5 ton with air brakes. You’re going to have a near impossible time getting hired due to insurance. Start with a 5 ton, then move into a local p&d position. Try and find a company like Canada cartage that will allow you to step up within the same company. Don’t job jump.

    Check indeed and apply to everything you see.

    Get out with resume in hand and knock on doors, I have found many jobs that way.

    Look at paving companies, landscaping companies, cement trucks, gravel haulers etc. Might be seasonal but it gets you in the seat and experience.

    Even if an ad says minimum 1 year experience, apply anyways, you never know and might get a call for that position or a similar one.
