Hello all,
Stumbled onto this site a few days ago and was impressed by the tremendous amount of "experienced" information available here.
I have been driving professionally for the better part of the last 20yrs. I did quite a few years driving Limousines full time, (Money was good pre 9/11, but I kinda burnt out on babysittin drunks all the time.) I've been a courier, delivery driver. I've driven Rough terriane fork & boom lifts for construction trades. I've driven (non CDL type) trucks, delivery vans, motorcycles, (MC's being the only way to make it as a courier in Southern Ca. freeway traffic.) any number of driving gigs.
Never had a ticket,.. (while on the job that is) No accidents while working and none ever that were my fault! (Got hit on my motorcyle by a drunk & my pick-up was rear ended by a teen talkin on her cell)
I have had my CDL-A & driving a tractor trailer rig for a little over a year now. Driving in Mich. I got a crash course in foul weather driving right out of the gate!! (Whew!!.. what a winter!!)
I work locally, 5 days a week for an hourly wage. I like it!!,.. but wish I could get more hours. (Picked a heck of a time to get into trucking I guess)
I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about driving a big rig and lurking in this forum for a few days, I've already learned a great deal.
Well, that about covers the main points for a quickie intro. I look forward to getting to know folks here.
Thanks,
