    Hello All,

I've been driving for roughly a little over 3 years and recently purchased my own truck and end dump trailer, with hopes of becoming an owner operator.
I'm currently a company driver because the company I'm working for said they're not looking for O/O at the moment.
I've recently established an LLC, obtained my EIN, and filed my 2290 and I believe my next steps were to obtain insurance and register the truck.
My only concern at the moment is prospecting for leads, I'd hate to have to pay insurance on a truck that's not moving.
So my question is what's the best way to find customers if your local bigger companies aren't hiring.
I'd like to stay local just to break in the truck from it's recent overhaul and once I'm comfortable with its ability to pull loads I'll eventually venture out. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

If your already running an end dump for someone you know what’s in your area.

Hit up all the quarries and concrete plants etc….

no ones looking for hired end dumps around me……of course the ground is almost frozen :)

    motocross25 and J3DIKing Thank this.

Those are red flags, and something you are going to have deal with this month, until you lease onto someone.

To give you some help, TrueNorth will write you a non-liabilty bobtail insurance, tractor only policy for about $358 month to month.

I'm assuming you financed the tractor. If you paid cash outright, and don't have a note, disregard my post.

Do you have a base plate? IFTA solution?

Give these guys a shout. They are down in your area in Sebastian FL and their bread and butter is the southeast.

    U.S. Transportation.

the truck is paid off and no plate or IFTA. I wasn’t sure about going OTR immediately after its overhaul

Hell, you're 8 steps ahead of the game.

I'd hook it to a trailer and see how that rebuild money was spent.

What kinda truck we talking about?
