    What's affordable?

I think $20k is right for a new authority with a clean owner.

Well I would actually do this, put the truck under a lease with a company that you qualify for, drive it for four years or maybe three and then see what the rates are.

For some reason my insurance guy keeps telling me when I tell him it was a little accident that there is no such thing as little.

$43,000!!! That's the highest quote I've heard, even taking into account this is the internet...

You could always lease the truck on somewhere until accident falls off. Better than being a company guy while your equipment returns to earth. Trucks don't like to sit very long.

I hear that you can buy insurance for an driver with clean record and after 1-2 month add yourself with the same rate and remove 1st one.

Geez what kind of insurance are you over the road guys required to have? I’m a new owner operator with a triaxle dump and new dot numbers. Only have had cdl for a few years so I have no real track record.I have 1 million auto and 1 million liability. The company that subs me require I have high coverage. I paid 6000 bucks up front paid in full for full year through progressive.

That's easy when you have a limited mileage radius. Call and tell them you want to change to unlimited mileage interstate operations and your premium will rise substantially.

    kenn2632 and SL3406 Thank this.
