What are the specs? Intended purpose? Purchase price and payment amounts? I don’t like these kind of deals where you just take over payments. Do you not have the credit to get financed for it? If you’re dead set on taking over payments you need a contract that states the terms and both of you need it notarized, agreeing to the deal. A simple contract like that, you could type up yourself or a lawyer could do it for cheap, being it’s a simple deal.
It doesn’t make sense for someone to be getting another truck without trading this one. Is there some reason he can’t trade it in? There are usually circumstances surrounding the deal if someone is seeking a person to take over payments.

Don’t buy it. A dealer will neither service the truck or accept as trade. Most likely the ECM has had some quack in there tuning it. Don’t do it.

Why doesn't he let you use the truck, YOU take 40% of the gross to the truck and let him keep going on the payments?

You know that saying about doing business with friends or family. There is a very good reason for that.

Yeah I had a cousin call me a few weeks ago, he was begging me for a job and I said no, I instead sent him $500 for his house payment but I refuse to hire any relative or friend, no exceptions.

Egr deletes might be ok for some. But at end of the day egr engines have small clearances and oil galleys soot in your oil clogs these up over time . Thats why they are egr to clean and maintain small soot samples. If it was deleted i would do more freq oil changes for insurance.
