70% of what? Makes all the difference in the world. Would take my chances on that rather than 90 cpm plus surcharge. 90 cpm plus surcharge, yeah there's lots of people going into the poor house working for that. They think cause everyone is doing it that it must be good. A sucker is born every minute.

That truck note confuses me, I just got approved from GE on a 2016 389 Pete...they came back with zero down, no payment for two months, $ 2600 a month. That's on a $157,900 sticker price. Good luck, hope everything works out for you.

His loan term is 5 years. Yours is probably 7.

I am going to refrain from making a comment on how much that 587 cost him. Just say that next time do his shopping elsewhere.

I missed the 5 years part, my brain shut down at $3700, started thinking about how hard I would have to run. With these emissions trucks I would not plan on keeping it. From what I can see they are good to trade anytime after year three.

I payed about 10,000 more for my 2015 pete 579 yes the loan terms are 5 years and will be refinancing in 6 months. It's not one the cookie cutter ones, and admittedly I walked in like a kid in candy store lol. As you can see ,a little, in the pictures that my friend has pulled the tarp from, is a custom built diesel roadster, built from a old 2 axle mac with a Detroit turbo charged v6. Registered as a custom car here in California, that I like none standardness. Lol. 20150117_150620.jpg 20150117_150606.jpg 20150117_150620.jpg 20150117_150606.jpg

Lol... I understand brother. People that know me best try to keep me out of dealerships. I didn't buy the 2016 Pete but could not resist the test drive. Where there is a will, there is a way. Enjoy the ride and best of luck.

An option that most balk at(tho I don't understand why) is running the Midwest and flying home every couple weeks. I have found flights home from the Midwest for 69 bucks round trip. And MUCH better paying freight over here.
I'm not real familiar with who is strong out on the west coast, but just because you live there, does not mean you have to work there, nor does it mean you have to be less to a carrier based there.
Landstar and Mercer are two companies you should look into. you also should seriously consider getting away from dry vans. No matter what industry you work in, the easier and simpler the job, the less it pays.

I've seen more and more landstar trailers out here that's why I've been looking into them, the only flat experience I have is 48ft and doubles hauling chickens, hated them lockers lol. Pulled alot of reefers, that's why I got the 280 in wheel base thought a nice reefer would look good, vans are the bottom of the pay scale and I've never liked them but I seem to be suck with one alot.

Mr Taylor...do you have any more pic's of your friend's truck? Saw a video recently about a truck and would eventually want to do something like that for myself.

Do you want weekends off? I can't recall if you said that or not. If you want to run the I-5 corridor there's better paying freight out there. I think looking into a flatbed or curtain van deal would be your best option.

If you're open to pulling a reefer and getting off 5, the east-west loads generally pay better. Everyone wants to run 5 and have a clean truck. The money will be better going where others don't want to go.
