I'm a new o/o with my own authority and have recently found it pretty rough out here lately. I have the support of my parents who helped me get my truck in the first place. I don't want to rely on them though and I have found that a lot of companies won't take me on with my 2000 freightliner. I feel like I'm going to have to lease onto someone to survive here. I heard may trucking takes on older trucks if anyone has imput on them it would be geeatly appreciated. I also wanted to add I got a decent deal on my truck the payments are not high I just want to make more consistent money. I actually want to try running team; yea I know less privacy but longer runs. Now is not a time to be proud I have a son and wife back home depending on me failure is not an option. Lol if you have read this far thank you for listening to my two cents any advice is appreciated see u all on the road

with your own authority it doesn't matter how old your truck is you are your own company. i never had anybody ask the age of my truck .
up untill 3 years ago i ran an 85 cabover never had a problem. i assume you are using brokers or trying to use one company?

it's very difficult to make money for everybody right now there is a shortage of freight and it's being hauled for very cheap rates. and working for brokers that are taking 30% aint no good deal either .
