And I thought there was an advantage????,.............
Fuel costs are part of the game,...I thought Dart had a fuel program with discounts for it o/o's??????,.... -
They do but the mileage pay isn't very good! My Dad tried the Dart Advantage, he lasted a week.
Is your hubby buying the truck from Dart?
The smartest thing he can do to save fuel... Shut the truck off when at all possible, buy an electric blanket and when weather permits it sleep without it running. -
we know that fuel costs are part of the game, i was looking for advice on how to manage the costs better. he is buying a truck from highways sales in indiana..a 2007 volvo. he doesnt idle the truck at all because he has an apu installed. i guess i should have asked for advice on how to MANAGE fuel costs better. anyone got any suggestions?

Some more information is probably needed here. What motor does he have ? How many miles on the truck ? How many miles is he running per week ? Does he know what he is getting right now for MPG ?
Providing these answers could help you with your original question. Just a thought...... -
volvo engine, 195000 miles on the truck, about 3000 miles a week, mpg is around 7

I hate to sat it but,......That's about as good as it's gonna get,.................iluvatruckr Thanks this. -
Yeah really. 3000mi, 7mpg means you're paying around $2.33 a gallon.... that's nice..... we haven't seen fuel under $2.50 in these parts in a long time.iluvatruckr Thanks this. -
Hey,...Yous did the math!!!,...........I think yous should get a gold star,..............
For the record I didn't do the math,.....But 7mpg is pretty good I recon,....I don't think I ever saw better than 5.5mpg in my tuck,....Usually less.,,,,,,lol,..
