At the end of the day, the owner op and the lease op are still considered unskilled labor by the US Dept of Labor. And they don’t care who they offend.
To me it doesn’t matter how anyone reaches their numbers and goals in life. As long as they do no harm.
I wish them all the best of luck, and safe travels.

I just ran an annual report from my logging software. I'm done for the rest of the year, so the numbers are accurate. Dry van operation in the PNW I-5 corridor only, all spot freight.
I'm right at 200k revenue for the year. Out of the logged 69,543 annual miles, at least 4,000 of those are pc miles too. Many of those 213 "worked days" were also days when I was back home in my own bed for the night.
One of things I determined when I got into this as an owner operator was I was not going to be like a migrant worker who follows the harvest. Home time is a high priority for me. Being an owner operator has it's responsibilities, however, there should be a reasonable amount of privilege that goes with it, in my opinion, of course.
It can be done...
I cropped out my name on the report so as not to incriminate myself LOL.

To try and use a metric that pigeon holes everyone into the same mold is useless. However, there's that old adage about, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."SteerTire Thanks this. -

I would rather lease on before own authority
