That's a GREAT truck. I've had 2 BRAND NEW emission trucks, wouldnt touch one with a 50ft pole. And I had good luck with the volvo, but I sold it BEFORE the warranty was up.
My glider is as simple as it gets. Columbia, s60, 10speed. Cheapest truck on the road to maintain. Had it 4 years now. My friend has an emission truck, first year 2020 he had no warranty left he spend more on repairs than I've spent in 4 years. Never mind the down time.
If your buying and emission truck, dont. Stay in a company truck, or lease a new one every 3 years and ALWAYS, ALWAYS have warranty. When they break, NOTHING is cheap.

Maybe their all sold out now, their switching to all new cascadias for the fuel milage when running empty and electric Apus.
They were selling 4 year old Harrison gliders with factory built s-60 detroits and 10 speeds for 65 thousand with 350 thousand miles.
Heck of a deal I thought. I debated buying one but I hate the way a set back axle rides and drives empty.Another Canadian driver, Elroythekid and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
Remember, if your ride breaks down for any reason, you still have to make your payments.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
So it's either a T800, or a T880 that was acquired in some other fashion & re-powered on the DL..
Maybe the OP can clarify if it looks like the top pic, or the bottom pic..

I also ensured it had a 2 year full warranty on it and made sure it passed its blowby, dyno and oil testing. To avoud DPF issues the unit i chose comes with a thermalking APU with only 200 hours on the unit. Additionally im getting a brand new 50 gallon multi-use wetkit installed as part of the deal, so if the end dump goes south i can switch to other trailer types easily enough. Additonally i picked up a holland 5th wheel block as they seem to be well regarded and i wont need my truck to be down for 2 weeks for a custom fab. And the truck has all tires at 90% or better with 100% brand new michlins on the steers and the leaseing company is putting all new virgin bridgestones on the trailer as well as new brake pads and doing a full overhaul of the piston as well.
Payments are fairly lowish at $1600 a month after i paid 25% up front with the trailer being at $1250 on a lease. Have $5000 in ready cash $2500 in credit and $10,000 in a savings i can pull down at need as my operateing capital. Figure that will cover anything the warranty wont and help me ride out the 2-3 weeks before my first check comes in.
Insurance, taxes and tags are covered by the company i am leaseing onto plus supplimental personal and i have my EIN numbers and an account with both a prepaid lawyer for anything that may come up and an accountant/payroll firm. And already have my dashcams, ELD and such set up. And have signed up for a nice tire discount with my company to help keep costs low.
Finding health insurance is my last hurdle which is suprise suprise being the biggest pain in the ### (thanks obamacare!). but otherwise i THINK i have all my bases covered barring something obvious im being dumb and overlooking. So i am as well set up as i can be short of buying the truck and trailer in cash.
Also single it matches the lower picture save with a coffin on her. It was a glider that had an older C10 in it. Dont remimber what year it was off the top of my head though, i want to say a 2010 or 2011 though.DispatchBuddy, Vampire and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
So was a t800 then. Thanks for the clarification..
I've never been leased anywhere, but sounds to me like you've pretty much got everything in order.. Break a leg.!
X2 on finding health insurance.. I pay just shy of $190 a month (BCBS single 37yr old man) for a worthless HMO. The only thing it's good for was avoiding the $2k penalty for not having insurance, & if I were to be hospitalized for a serious injury..Another Canadian driver, Vampire, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this. -
But yea im both eager and horrified im actully going through with going owner op. This is going to be one HELL of an adventure one way or another.Another Canadian driver, Zangief, Vampire and 5 others Thank this. -
