Little update for you folks. Got to pick up my rig today now that the wetkit is FINALLY done . Shes pretty, though needs to have her spirit broken. She decided to introduce herself by having 4 fried batterys that the wetkit guys kept jumping. Apparently thst caused chaos with the ECM (hopefully thats all it is) and made her throw a stop engine derate for the SCR on me 50 miles from the dealer lol.....bleah 20210318_133012.jpg

All those rears are pretty much useless for end dump IMO, tall 24.5s for ground clearance and 3.70s minimum if not 3.90 or 4.10

I am still waffleing on the 24.5s tbh. I mesured the bottom of my skirt to the ground on flat concrete and the bottom of the tanks on my bosses 389 using 24.5s i was using and the diffrence is .03 inches even with my 22.5s and tires are much easier to find. And i only had problems with the 389 ONCE in a year on clearance so im not too worried about it. If its an issue i can swap to the 24.5s.

As for gearing im a bit low at 3.25 but the 389 was running 3.55 I just cant figure out how that .2 gearing would change things much. Especially as most of my loads are 500+ miles so i spend most of my time on blacktop. Worst case i have a quoute at $4200 for an upgear to 3.55.

For the rest, another little update for you guys seeing as @kemosabi49 asked me to keep you updated. Day one i had to get towed after 50 miles because 2 of my batterys were so badly shot they were causing electrical issues and most of the cableing was so bad that it literally snapped off when touched. $3200 later its fixed and aside from a no warning check engine light (i really need to find what program i need to read and clear codes) and a fried altinator in my APU all is well and i am sitting in jackson MN at the speedway next to where i get my trailer tomorrow. Still gunshy to idle an MX engine so been just sitting for 6 hours then running it at 1k for 30 mins to charge the batterys in order to both keep fuel costs low and prevent future ECM problems. Now that i own the truck watching that fuel guage move when i am not making money.....is painful lol. Especially after bobbing over 720 miles.

So another update for anyone who hasnt seen my other posts. Seems going to three diffrent places 2 being dealers and an indy wasnt enough of a pre purchase checkup.

Truck has been an unmitigated disaster to be frank. Day 1 was the battery incident, then the 5th wheel cracked and LITERALLY fell off the truck with my trailer. Then i had a massive laundry list of failures with my emissions system that i MAY have finally solved, all of which were caused by the fact the truck was NEVER maintained according to the last dealer.

Also had a ton of coolant fittings and valves fail because they were still factory and were recalled....4 years ago. I have a laundry list of parts that have failed and been replaced due to being factory parts and worn out entirely or bypassed/slipshodly repaired. NONE of the periodic maintaince has EVER been done on this truck evidenced by the literal 2 5 gallon buckets full of soot from the ERG system. so i had to do the full set from the ground up just to find all these bad parts. I have replaced literally HALF the sensors on this truck.

Wireing harnesses were ALL shot and cobbled together with slipshod repairs some of which someone literally twisted the wires together amd wraped them with tape. So ive been replacing them as money allows. ECM ACM and several other computers have failed so had to have new ones installed. One fusebox had several fuses pinned internally and had to be replaced. Many parts had fresh paint to likely hide damages and deep rust that were missed in the inspection and had to be changed. I.E the shocks were rusted through almost and had been primed and panted over. There is evidence of either odometer tampering or a used engine being swapped in due to mileage not matching what was found in some other dealers systems and being far lower then what they had. Nothing defenitive and may have been caused by bad ECM which when changed updated the odometer by adding 200k miles.....

Counting tows, late fees on loads, fuel and def wasted from regens and test drives and lost wages i am over 55k into repairs. Parts alone were 37k to date with warranty covering 22k and being used up now. So even if i prove odometer tampering (something my lawyer says is iffy at best due to so many bad parts) and the dealer takes the truck back i would be out too much money to be worth it.

So yea.....not bankrupt yet but talk about a champion MMA fighter level roundhouse kick to the balls with steel toe boots and about as rough a start as you can get. And ho BOY did i ever end up bent over by buba and used like a 2 penny lot lizzard dropped into a super max on viagra day on this truck. Here are some highlights.

Remimber kiddys if you want to be an O/O having a near 6 digit startup keeps the collections man away. So much for my "great plan" of buying a new low mile truck with a warranty to avoid issues for the first 90 days.....that worked so great.

We Warned ya to stay away from Paccar MX13. And to add salt to your wounds….. you ain’t done yet. Those codes are gonna keep popping up. Since your lawyer told ya to hold on to it, my advice would be to at least purchase the OTR tool direct from them. It will pay itself off on a tow. The OTR tool at least will get you to a shop.

To be fair to paccar this is less a paccar issue and more a i got sold a junker passed off as a good low mile truck issue. Considering stuff like the 5th wheel fell off, the pinned fuse box, the badly spliced wires, the hidden bad parts like the bad shocks, JB weld repaired cracked exaust manifold and glued airbags, no maintaince....ever, clogged ERGs ect. This would have cost just as much regardless if i got an ISX detroit or volvo engine in this condition.

And i actully have a davie4 tool to clear codes. Doesnt help much when you get 2 5 gallon buckets of soot out of the ERG, or blow coolant fittings for example.
