What is the RESALE like on GLIDERS now days ?
Use to be a problem in the past when GLIDERS were mostly used to do rebuild / salvage of wrecked trucks.

If I had $149k to spend I wouldn't be spending it all on a depreciating asset like a truck. Do some research, learn the business and buy a good used truck, because in the end your new truck is going to be used and worth 80% of the 149k after one year on the road.

Not really sure about resale value of gliders, frankly, because I did not buy my glider to resell it. I plan on keeping it so long that the only folks I could probably sell it to are farmers near me that would use it in the fall to haul in grain to the elevator in town. That is why I spec'd a mid roof with an air dam. First because it is easier to heat and cool the interior for me, then second, because the air dam could be yanked off and the truck used to pull hoppers. I got the glider as a long term investment and not some trade every 3-5 years thing. That is why I spent over 2 months going over specs to try and get it done right.

I would be willing to bet though, that if there was a 2013 emission laden truck for sale right along side my 2013 glider on the used truck lineup (both with comparable specs), mine would get bought before the other one. The glider idea itself may not be as appealing, but the pre-egr Detroit in it sure is.

$140 to $150,000 for a new truck with reman engine and reman trans does not make any since, why not buy a $15 to $20,000 truck, do a inframe, reman trans and rears, paint put all new brakes drums shocks, and tires on and still not have $60,000 invested. The only reason to pay for new truck price is to run west coast and with the glider you can't do that. Money wise this makes no since at all. Not to mention the older trucks look allot better.

Some new Petes in the Truck Paper last week were $164 grand. I was amazed. I'd go for a fairly new/used for thousands less. They are out there. I also wouldn't even get a Pete, less will still get the job done.
