I greatly appreciate all of the advice! I wouldn't buy a new Pete after reading what I've read here. Some of you can do it with the experience, and contacts you have, but I'd better play it safe and steer clear of brand new. Some other posters mention older trucks, and I'm not at all turned off by owning a 99 or 00 Pete. Before buying my own (used) truck back when, I drove a Pete 379 for an owner who was leased on with Miller Transporters. What a great truck that was! I bought a Volvo two years later, and had money in my pocket all the time, but wasn't loving driving that noisy sum b****. Lol!
