I was told yesterday that my original birth certificate was not good enough per the new DOT requirements and that I was required to get some special post-9/11 birth certificate.
Anyone have any experience with getting this new enhanced birth certificate? I finally found my original birth certificate and was surprised to learn that this was not good enough. I'm trying to call the registrar in my birth county but I believe the phones are down since this is in N. Jersey and they were hit with "Sandy".
Couldn't find anything on the forum related to this so any info. would be appreciated such as: How do I get this new enhanced birth certificate? Do I have to do it in person?
Thanks for any info.

Nope, you either have a certified birth certificate or you don't. I've never heard about new birth certificates and with all hysterical nutters out there this would be on the front page of the kooksberg gazette forever.

ask them to provide you with the regulations then that make it not acceptable.

My original certificate was good enough I had no problems. If you're having issues you might not have one with your county seal stamped into it maybe.

All my BMV in Indiana wanted was the birth certificate from health department not one given at hospital.
