Not everyone gets along with everyone on the sandbox. There is a boat load if information here. Some will jump to help you, others might get upset cuz you did not even look on the first page of posts to see that someone just asked the same question. All of us even me, want the answer to our questions.

Slow down a little and look around a bit. I am sure I have asked things before without looking a lot, or even using the search function too.

    Just trying to be helpful

Recommend that you search for a topic first, before asking the question that's been asked 117 times this week alone. I know you have no way to know that, but you DO have the ability to do a search before asking.

A guy drives all day, fires up his laptop, the sees a bunch of new topics made by people who didn't do any research before opening a new topic... I can see how that would be frustrating.

As others have pointed out, sometimes it gets irritating when somebody new posts a question that has already been asked and answered a gazillion times. A simple search would have revealed the answer in many cases.

Many times, that answer is even on the same page as the new post, so it does get frustrating. But, in a way you are correct - we should try harder to just ignore those questions if we don't have the patience to answer them.

On a side note, you seem to be very upset about this situation. Your profile shows you to be a student. I assume that means that you are a student in a driving school. You really need to try harder to control your emotions and not let the little things like this upset you so much.

I can assure you that life as a truck driver will present you with challenges on an almost daily basis that will make this problem look trivial. You can't just cuss people out and call them names when you don't like the way things are going. Try to learn to accept the things you can't change, or alternatively, try to be more diplomatic in trying to change them.

Remember that you will not only be representing your company when confronted by these situations, but you will also be representing the entire trucking community. Good luck to you.

It is because most newbie questions reflect the fact that they haven't done enough research to know what questions are important.

They reek of someone who hides behind a keyboard and wants others to do their research for them.

While it may be easier to ask questions than research, it will never yield facts just opinions.

Do you really want to base what you do on others opinions? I urge you to research. When you have you will come back with intellegent questions. In so doing you will receive less flack.

If you're thin-skinned you should rethink your career choice. If you can't take a licking for being too lazy or too challenged to do your own research, you are in trouble in whatever you do.

Agreeing with the others... that whole freaking out, stomping your feet temper tantrum is immature, and gets you fired, or best case... waiting all day to get loaded or unloaded LAST while the shipping clerk recovers from your little hissy fit.

Just like death and taxes, on message boards there are two things that can always be expected:

People who either don't know how to use or don't like the use the search function, and people who take exception to people who don't use the search function.

The good thing about the search function is often you will find that there are 6 or 7 threads asking the same question, so you now instantly have 6 or 7 threads worth of great information.
