    Thread bump.
How are these things? Mine is on the way. 7-8 week back order is what they said.

Has anyone else tried an alternative mounting? What are the actual dimensions of the device?

Pre-pass elite is about 6"x 2" it works best on the windshield. Mine is on the left side bottom corner

Thank you. My dash cam is a permanent mount... trying to wrap my head around where everything will be placed.

Just a heads up, we have been running them since that last post a couple of months ago with NO battery issues, so all I can say is so far so good on this end?

    Cottonmouth85 Thanks this.

My company runs these and I have never had an issue with any of the tolls I have come across from the rockies to the mid west... That's our many service area... And the batteries last god I don't even know how long... I think I replace mine just cause about every 6 months. I've seen a few people mount them so the long side runs up and down the windshield in various places

KANSAS TRANSIT and Cottonmouth85 Thank this.

Just stuck them on the upper left hand corner next to the window split on the right side glass pane, about an inch down and an inch back from the window trim.

    Cottonmouth85 Thanks this.

Make sure when you replace the batteries, you use a Lithium AAA. Alkaline is no good in these.
