I know this will sound bad but its sad the driver is not be charged or even given a ticket for "failing to maintain control of vehicle".

btw article doesnt say who the driver drives for.

Watch the video and she says "New Prime" from Missouri.

It aparently takes a minute or two for the video to come on.

That's not a crime in NC. He could possibly be cited for driving too fast for conditions or careless and wreckless, but again you have a very weak case.

The way I see it the guy was sitting in a dangerous location in the middle of the highway. He should have known there was a chance he could be hit by a vehicle. The reporter doesn't say anything about HOW the accident happened, just a lot about the guy that was hit by the truck.

Trust me, the NCHWP would have gave him a citation if they felt the driver was at fault. They have all the facts, we have none.

I heard a story of a person in Alabama that tried to jump onto a moving 18 wheeler to hitch a ride. They missed and needless to say, they had to blot that person up with handy wipes.

The intersection is a cloverleaf... to be near the median where the man was hit, you have to be traveling in the hammer lane - in fact (looking at the video again) that is a left-hand turn lane the newspaper seller is seated next to. It looks like the north side is where that concrete median is. If the driver got into that lane, he'd have been slowing down, and his tandems would have dog-tracking to the right...

If he merged from the parkway exit ramp, again, his tandems would have been dog-tracking to the right. Perhaps the victim lost his ballance and fell? Perhaps he was standing in the traffic lane? In either case, the victim contributed (and was allowed to contribute by the authorities) to his own demise. Thus no ticket to the driver... in the realm of a tragic accident.

Its a tragedy in any case for both the victim and the driver - who'd want that on their concience?

Dkw details, but this would be a "rube" driver.

Would it? Or are you describing yourself? It's a cloverleaf intersection driver. There's no way you can get your tandems over far enough to run across that median...

whats the problem with you jokers???? sure the guy got hit, why do some say the truck lost control or was speeding?? the guy may have been seeling papers there for years, and may be handicapped, but you arent suppossed to be on a narrow median like he was, its very very dangerous. why wasnt he charged with jay walking? its hard to beleive he has been allowed to sell papers there for years and even more amazing he hasnt been hit already.

look at the video close in some of them the guy is right on the yellow line.

amazing the cops find no reason to charge the truckdriver( reason pretty simple the guy was illegally selling papers on a narrow median strip ) and you geniuses find him at fault and want to string him up.
