I'm not sure but when I get to my senior years I think it would be a nice option.

Wouldn't work too well if your load ran close or all the way to the back of the trailer

Hannah Steel in Birmingham has quite a few of their new trailers with that rear access option. Hauling coils or shorter plate, I can see it being quite handy.

I don't need rear access. I can get up the back without much problem. it's when I want to get on the trailer from the side. there is 1 place on my daily run where I back to a dock & the back of dock is blocked where I cannot get on from rear if I wanted. need to get on from the side. so far I have looked at about a dozen ladders. some are real nice ,but real expensive.

I would like a hand rail at the top. I'm not just thinking about today, thinking what about in 5 10 years at my age then, if still trucking what will I like to have.

1 of our drivers used to jump off of his trailer, after back surgery he came back to work with his new ladder. though he is 70.

I just got this in an email and it may be more of what you are looking for. Looks like it just hangs on the rub rail.
