well I hate to admit it, but I made a mistake on location of my boxes. after getting a lot of info I thought I knew where I wanted them.just front of center is where they went. the problem is when there is a load on trailer & the center is flexed it does something to the alignment of the doors. when I try to close doors I have to pick up to close. once trailer is empty, the doors open & close real smooth. with even the lightest load the doors take some effort to open & even more to close. I never even thought of this. not a big deal, but prob going to move to between rear axles. just in case anyone needs this info to pass on to some one else considering location of boxes.

I wouldn't have thought of that either. That's a tough break. Thanks for posting.

It makes perfect sense, as the frame rail sags, it pulls against the box brackets. Everyone of us should of thought of that. And none of us did. We suck.

Move the box Leave the brackets on and make a dunnage rack or box with no door there. Or tire chain hangers.

    It's all good....:) That's a beauty .

I will prob use the brackets to mount on rear.as they are already bolted to the boxes. wont have to do any modifications, as the holes in the rear cross members are in same position as to mount boxes there too. just unbolt the 3 supports & 8 nut's,bolts & move to rear.

I am lov'in the new trailer though. I didn't even want to drag the chains across the deck, so nice & shiny, but I bought it to work & work it will see. this is my first 5 day work week in a couple months. told my dispatch, got my new trailer, so lets try it out & load it, so now I can & will haul heaver than before. getting more options on loads. my ole one I would not load heavy single coils. this new one is also over 2000 lbs lighter than my old steel trailer. I have not weighed with fuel topped off, but at the steel mill when I scaled in I was 27, 000 & some odd lbs. don't remember exactly.

If I empty out my side pockets full of tools & spare parts, I could prob loose another 500-600 lbs.

Thanks for passing this along, I am getting ready to mount a couple boxes to my fontaine (side kit is coming off). I was debating to mount like you did, but defiantly going between the axles now.
