Old nasty equipment and terminal. Missed 3 payrolls in 1 month. Constantly leaving entire trips off pay. Equipment was filthy and NOTHING worked....first truck, a 98 Freighliner, old CR England truck, no clutch for a month, no trolley break, no power connection for CB, no working speakers for stereo, no AC, no APU, no air to seats, missing body parts, found old dirty underwear and rotten food in tractor...used entire roll of duct tape to tape dash together to keep from rattling. Load coordinator has a foul attitude and literally tries to tell drivers how to run the truck, where to fuel, routes to take....can you imagine running an old broke down truck with 53' reefer across hwy 60 in arizona (salt river canyon) rather than running down I-17 in route to Phx? Had owner who has been bankrupt several times (co. in wives name) do a search of sleeper because i near a liquor store, (while buying cigars) and told to take down confederate battle flag hanging in sleeper covering missing panels....that was the final straw for me. You need your head examined if you even think about working with these lying, cheating, crooks. I curbed a trailer tire in ontario and was fined $1000 taken out of check with no notice...next week assessed another $595 for tire. Need I say more.

The company is owned by Charlie Daniel in Mt Vernon-but he will be quick to tell you that his wife owns it.

I just hired on with them and yes the equipment is old and used up! They are constantly BROKE with qual-comm Messages always coming in the "TCH" or "EFS" are "Down" ROFLMAO! Yes they are down due to NO MONEY! They are selling off their BOL's as soon as they hit the office to a forwarder at a 15% loss as soon as the trip pack hits "Scan and Go", Flying J's "primeir" answer to "trip pak" (Another ROFLMFAO ) They have to sell off the BOL's just to pay the fuel and payroll bills.

This week they sent a message out stating "They are taking back control of the fuel problem" meaning that we now have to send in a qcomm message and hope that it is answered before we hit the fuel island. We have to tell this 30 something year old female dispatcher (with no driving experience) where we are fueling (always a log book hour sucking Flying J) and how much fuel is on board and they will send an authorization on how many gallons and money ( A TCH or EFS cash code). This is actually a GOOD thing as several times I have pulled onto the fuel island after having received a qcomm notice as to which way we are to pay for fuel that day, pump my fuel only to find out that, oops, we have no money and you'll have to wait till a BOL comes in that they can cash so you don't look like a fool any longer! or someone sells their blood whichever comes first!

As I said the equipment is trash (well what do you expect with drivers who aren't paid, are scared that they might scratch something and have to pay for the damages and who never lived in a nice house to begin with! (Here I'm going to bash truck drivers) If these MORONS who call them selves truck drivers would respect the #### truck (which cost more than the mobile home they live in) and not abuse the inside with velcroe, duct tape, drilling holes, cutting wires, breaking the dashbaord components, removing trim shelves and parts, leaving food, piss and other offensive things behind (this includes that #### offensive smoking habit of yours as if that smoke doesn't stick to every freaking surface in the cab!) and actually take care of the thing maybe they would look half way decent even after 2 and 3 MILLION miles! Some of you actually think Charlie the owner is going to be the one to get into the truck after you and not the next unfortunate driver, so quit trashing the #### things and this goes to the rest of you drivers out there also! This is a problem with all trucking companies!

Yes New Rising Fenix sucks, to put it mildly! Yes you will drive team unless you can come off as being so offensive no one would want to team with you (there are actually several solos here I wouldn't get into a truck with!) but then you'll wind up like some of the solo drivers, sitting for 2-4 days waiting for a load as "teams come first"! Making that big $40. a day layover (That's $5. an hour! {what is minimum wage anyway,HMMMM?} ROFLMFAOPIP!)

And even then their dispatch department makes NO sense as to their reasoning on dispatching! You get a load drive it 500 miles and swap it with another team! Both of which will have about the same amount of hours in the log books to finish the load. Now I can't get off the freaking floor I'm LMFAO so hard! Another thing to know, If you send a message in by Qcomm to this "Dispatch Department" You know, the place that keeps the driver informed of things he might need to know to GET HIS JOB DONE., don't hold your breath waiting for an answer! For 3 weeks I kept a journal of things I needed an answer to and never once did those upstanding icons of dispatch give me an answer! NEVER! I even asked about a shipper and she "had to look for a phone number for them" which by the way was on the dispatch! But still I never heard back from her! During orientation we are told DO NOT CALL SHIPPER OR CONS! But we have to to get any kind of information as dispatch is completely lost in trying to do any of the things a dispatch department with 40+ trucks has to cope with! (NOTE: Most major companies have dispatchers with a board of about 50 -70 trucks and you can get an answer to any question in a matter of minutes!) AT NSF they have 2 women in the office during the day and it's all they can do to handle the piddling 40 something trucks they have! Oh I forgot that on Mondays and Wednesdays 1 of them is in Orientation explaining all she does for you the driver! OK, Now my sides are killing me I'm LOL, ROFCMFAO!

Speaking of which..Charlie himself will come in on day 2 of orientation and tell you to your face NO FALSIFYING OF LOG BOOKS! This is due to a very recent visit by DOT where 57 counts of log book coloring were found costing $1000 a piece! BUT do not expect to be able to sit long enough some place to do a 34 hr reset unless you are at home! And that is only after being out for 3 weeks! AND expect that when you get back from home time (OH HELL YES THE TRUCK STAYS IN MT VERNON, MO! you get home any way you can and better have your silly butt back by the end of those oh so wonderful 72 hours (remember 1 day for every 7 days out!) Your truck will be gone and you now get to learn a new truck and clean it also! Also, most of the trucks have low level exhaust! Ever been parked and tried to idle a truck with LLE and not choke from the exhaust fumes? Hard to do on a still hot day with no wind blowing to move the cloud away! I'd love to tie the idiot who thought that the weight savings were worth that idea to the cross member for about 30 minutes!

Yes they DO have some moron there that is actually paid to clean the trucks (I wish I had this job!) who thinks cleaning the truck means to blow the dirt around the floor and then spray Armour All or something simular all over the floors and dash!

If you are old and desperate for a job, New Rising Fenix is the place for you! If you don't mind riding in a junk yard, oops a TRASHED out junk yard that might actually make it onto the interstate come on over. But be warned. 90% of their loads go to Ca and 99% of their trailers are older than 2001 so west coast runs will soon become a thing of the past as Charlie can't afford to retrofit these trailers ( OH I forgot... SPRUNG! NOT AIR RIDE! well most of them anyway!) to pass the new CARB laws in CA! That takes effect on July 17th of 2009! This month even! Meaning most of Charlies freight will disappear like your pay checks!

Need a job that will make you respect the company or at least appreciate the one you are working for? Then New Rising Fenix is the place for you! You'll go crawling back to that slave driver you worked for before you jumped ship onto this runaway wreck of a trucking company! This place makes the OLD laughing stock of the area, CXI, look like paradise!

Another note IF you don't heed the above advice bring what you can carry in one of those LARGE roll around suit cases. If it doesn't fit in it you don't need it as you will more than likely have to slip seat several times due to break downs, home time or other reasons (like wanting to kill the co driver they hooked you up with!) If you own a car, DRIVE to orientation so you have a way home. NRF will NOT pay for a return ticket to get you home if you don't pass any of the steps in Orientation (which means you are a REAL LOOSER not to pass! And I wouldn't want you anywhere close to MY truck!) or you decide that there are too many ways that Charlie will find to take your money from you, and yes, they are actually spelled out in the drivers manual you are given! No kidding! There isn't a "hidden" charge there! They actually tell you what and when they will take your hard earned money!

If you aren't scared yet then by all means go to new rising fenix and do the on line application and They will call you back before you have a chance to turn off the computer! Good luck and may god have mercy on your soul! AHHHHLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Hidden or not, it's a violation of federal law to take money out of your paycheck for damages and such without your authorization. You could nail him to the wall for that.

If you sign the agreement then you DO pay what ever you agree to! Take any employment agreement from any trucking company to a lawyer and he will tell you the same thing. You sign you agree!

Agreements and contracts are not valid if they violate the law. I think it even specifies that in the law itself. You don't need a lawyer either. The labor board will tear them to shreds.

I only wish the above had been posted before my team partner and I went to work for them. We lasted all of 2 weeks (most of which was spent broke down in CA) before my partner caught a bus home and I took the truck back to them and went back to my former employer. I have yet to see any pay for the runs we were able to complete.

Someone pointed out that one of the states at least (Illinois?) doesn't care and won't do anything. Even if the state you file the claim with doesn't take action you can still file a lawsuit up to $5000 with no need of a lawyer. It's just a matter of filing one form.

Nobody should have to put up with treatment like this.

They get away with it because they hire drivers that can't get a job anywhere else.
