I seem to remember hearing on another forum about junky trucks, low pay, basically a scumbag coolie carrier. Don't know for sure, but their units look pretty scroungy for the most part.

Well here is the info on these guys.I live in Texas and that want me to pay to get to Mount Vernon,Mo, ok no big deal but as we talked more they insisted that I drive team( no way) and that I will have to drive back and forth from Mount Vernon, Mo because we dont bring the trucks home, so I asked what year the equipment was and she said we have 98 Freighliners classics and some 05 T-6's and Volvo 780's but I'm sure I would of got the 98. Is this normal not to bring the truck home, I have never heard of that. So I'm still looking because I need a job not another bill to add in order to get a job, she said some other things I needed to bring or they would supply them and deduct them from my pay but I didnt care at that point.

Driving the truck home is not all that common, and is probably destined to become less common, what with the price of fuel these days.

If you aren't flying with the big boys - the big national carriers - I'd not be surprised at all to see 10-15 year old trucks in the fleet. I don't know at what point it becomes cheaper to sell a used truck and buy new (instead of properly maintaining it), but it's probably in the 400 to 500 thousand mile range. Measured against a LOT of trucks.

Actually, alot of the smaller companies have no policy against taking the trucks home. They even route you through the house regularly. The larger companies may be a little harder to do this.

Most of the smaller companies I have driven for have trucks no older than 3 years. Most of them already are close to 400,000 by then.

Rising Fenix just started up when I got my CDL. They were talking about the new trucks, 1998 and all that they have. It seems that they may not have bought any newer.

I have no real knowledge on them, except, I would not drive that far for any job. There are many other truck companies out there.

I drove for them when they were WAYNE D. they were great but went belly up and cheated everyone out of pay and loans. I don't like people who LIE or CHEAT anyone. It always comes back on you 10 fold. My mother (bless her) always told us kids never lie or cheat anyone and always treat people like they were you and you'll never go wrong. It's been hard driving for over 30 years and putting up with everyone you are employed by lies to you and even ask you to lie for them to shippers, brokers DOT. It hurts me to lie in LOG BOOK knowing that If I ever hurt someone due to a lie I would have to live with it. (and I do everyday).
