Talked with a Schneider recruiter today just for fun. They are advertising a position here in Alaska to fly guys to different cities where they need help. 3 weeks out 5 days home. Anybody hear about it or maybe in that program? Told me .43cpm for 8 years experience and .35 to start

Negatives are its obviously a different tractor every trip out. Breakdowns could be a ##### since obviously more trucks you drive your chances of winning the "lottery" is better. Good thing its mostly dedicated runs. Ofcourse that could suck too

Are they positions in AK? Or in the lower 48?

Could be interesting if it was local work in semi-remote communities.

Roehl sometimes does the same. They were hiring drivers out of Miami then flying them home for hometime.

Here in Alaska? Where? Message me I can help you with ideas. I haul Tankers here for 9 months a year. For day position fuel haulers do good

They consider the day coming and going as part of you 5. So you probably only get 3 full days home every three weeks. That sux

Yeah probably so. I was out 3 weeks with FFE then 3 home. Just hard to find companies out of Alaska that hire knowing you only want 8 months driving a year. The big companies dont care

    strollinruss Thanks this.

So the job you are talking about is what we here in dedicated call surge support. By all accounts it blows. At least on our account the dispatchers cram in tons of support from regional and otr. One week hou are slammed, next week nothing. Then they hold the support drivers on for far too long. Most otr and regionals only get released because they give their dispatchers an earful because they aren't getting enough miles. Dunno how it works on other accounts
